Ivory lace dress with silver thread work - 1950's Movie Star elegance. UK size 10 (US 8, EU 38)
This ravishing dress with it's tiers of lace worked over in silver thread work is pure Hollywood elegance.
Ideal for a glamorous vintage bride, or shimmer the night away in soft silvery lace at a ball!
It's likely this dress was inspired by the medieval era movies of the time such as "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Knights of the Round Table", as well as by the trend for metallic elements started by Princess Alexandra, who had pailettes stitched under the lace of her wedding gown to create a shimmer effect.
With it's flattering shawl collar and pelmet train, buttoned sleeves and silver pewter threadwork, this dress would look at home in a Pre-raphealite painting or on a fifties film star.
The dress has is fully lined with a half zip closure, covered buttons with elasticated button loops and an integral soft tulle underskirt.
Wear with paniers or a hoop petticoat to show off the fullness of the skirt.
